Anybody know why the Grand Comics Database is down so often? About once a month, I'll try to log on to the site, only to find it's down again. It's been down for about the last three days, after only having been back up for about a week. This is getting ridiculous.

The GCDB website is basically run by one guy who has a real job. He's working on it. I know they just moved the server nearer to where he lives so he could keep closer track of it.

If you don't like it, find yourself a competing service that does the same thing for the same price.

Maybe they could get two guys to run it if it's too much for one man to handle.

I understand the concept of free just fine, but eventually the guy who runs it has to make a decision: either keep running it the way he's running it, or fix it. If it's too much for one man to handle, then he has to acknowledge that and either get another volunteer or leave it the way it is. I don't think the latter is a particularly good option, as this is an ongoing problem. If something happens once, fine, but if it keeps happening over and over again, then he needs to rethink the situation and arrive at a better conclusion. It's not like a better conclusion is unattainable, or even hard to come by.

What I don't understand is the virtual hero worship which springs up around people who put up websites, as well as Internet rudeness.
